World War II Letters - 12 June 1941 - Written by Stan Cooper

Stan receives the coveted watch from his family.

Mr. Doe was one of Stan's high school teachers that year. Remember, Stan left school in the spring in his junior year to join the Navy. My mother wrote the note on the side of the letter stating that the Does lived in Manilla, Philippines, when my family was stationed in Sangley Point in the late 1950s. We also saw them in Yokohama, Japan, in the mid 1960s.

Stan mentions his friend, Olav [Jorgensen], whom he will see soon, when he is home for the July 4th holiday celebration.

Mr. Doe, with Stan's son, Gib, visiting for a
Christmas dinner in 1964, in Yokohama, Japan.
