World War II Letters - 4 July 1942 - Written by Stan Cooper

"LIBERTY"

The U.S. National Archives
Stan has moved up with purchasing "U.S.S. San Diego" letterhead paper. He is so proud of his home on sea.

He mentions his Uncle Joe who is his grand uncle. Ashley Joseph Cooper (1868-1941) was one of the fourteen children of Austin Cooper and Elizabeth Gibson. I will post Joe's story soon. Joe lived in Honolulu as a typesetter for the local newspaper. Thus, family knew of Stan's location.
